Pierre Poilievre's close ties to Loblaws lobbyists

Pierre Poilievre likes to style himself as a politician who's in it for the little guy. But nothing could be further than the truth. He has met repeatedly with oil and gas lobbyists, both while in government and in opposition.

And Loblaws? He doesn't need to meet with them. The call is coming from inside the building.

A woman in a pink suit and a black shirt with glasses sits at a table.

Poilievre's close friend, Jenni Byrne, is a longtime Conservative insider and strategist. She attends Conservative caucus meetings (which are normally open only to elected members). She won't admit to what her role with the party is.

But on the side - as in, as her main paying gig - she's also a major lobbyist for the Loblaws corporation.

Oh, but that's different, she'll tell you! That's not Jenni Byrne and Associates, her company. That's a completely different company called Forecheck Strategies.

Except Forecheck employs mostly people who also work at Jenni Byrne and Associates.

And they work out of the same office.

So Pierre Poilievre is closely involved with Loblaws lobbyists. If you're concerned about the power that major Canadian corporations have over our government, you'll definitely be concerned about this.

Canadians deserve responsible corporations.
